General Summary

Below are sample documents taken from The Joseph Smith Papers, accompanied by complete and accurate transcriptions. The 30 or so volumes of papers will be organized into six series: Journal, Documents, Revelations and Translations, Legal and Business, History and Administrative.

Journal will contain all of Joseph Smith's diaries and journals.

Documents will include Joseph Smith correspondence and other documents.

Revelations and Translations will present the earliest manuscript texts of the Joseph Smith revelations.

Legal and business will consist of documents in which Joseph Smith was involved as a plaintiff, defendant, or material witness.

History will include a comprehensive documentary history compiled by Joseph Smith or those under his direction.

Administrative will publish records pertaining to church institutions.
