But great and marvelous are the works of the Lord and the mistries of his Kingdom which he shewed unto us which surpasse<s>th all understanding in glory and <in> might and in dominion which he commanded us we should not write while we were yet in the spirit and are not lawful for man to utter neither is man capable to make them known for they are only to be seen and understood by the power of the holy ghost <Spirit> which God bestows on those who love him and purifies themselves before him to whom he grants the privelege of seeing and knowing for themselves that through the power and manifestation of the spirit while in the fles<h> they may be able to bear his presence in the world of glory and to God and the Lamb be glory and honor and dominion for ever and ever Amen

A commandment given to us Joseph and Sidney in these words saying behold thus saith the Lord unto you my servants that the time his come verily come that it is necessary and expedent4 in me that you should open your mouth in proclaiming my gospel and the things of the kingdom expounding the mysteries thereof out5 of the scripture according to that potion of spirit and power which shall be given unto you even as I will verily I say unto you proclaim unto the6 world7 in the regions round about and in the church also for the space of a season even until it shall be made known unto you, verely this is a mission for a season which I give unto you wherefore labour ye in my vineyard call upon the inhabitants of the earth and bear record and prepare the way for the commandments and the revelations which are to come now behold this is wisdom whoso readeth let him understand and receive also for unto him who receiveth it shall be given more abundantly even power wherefore confound your enimies call upon them to meet you both in public and in private and inasmuch as ye are faithful there shame shall be made manifest wherefore let them bring forth there strong reasons8 against the Lord [p. 11]

Verily verily I say unto you that it is my will that my Servant Jerad should go again into the eastern countries from place, to place, and from City, City, in the power of the ordinence wherewith he has been ordained proclaiming glad tidings of j great joy even the everlasting gospel and I will send upon him the comforter which shall teach him the truth and his way whither he shall go and in as much as he is faithful I will crown him again with sheaves wherefore let your heart be glad my servant Jerad and fear not saith your Lord even Jesus Christ Amen

Harken and listen to the voice of the Lord Oh ye who have asembled yourselves together who are the high Priest of my church to whom the Kingdom and16 <and> power is <have been> given for verily saith the Lord it is expedient in me for a bishop to be appointed uto you or of you unto the Church in this part of the Lords viniard and verily in this thing yea17 have done wisely for it is required of the Lord at the hand of every Steward to render an acount of his Stewardship both in time18 and in eternity for he who is faithful and wise in time is acounted worthy to inherit the mantions prepareed for19 him of my Father Verily I say unto you the Elders of the Church in this part of my vineyard shall render an acount of his <their> Stewardship uto the Bishop <who> which shall be appointed of me in this part of my Vinyard these things shall be had on record to be handed over to the Bishop in Zion and the duty of the Bishop shall be made known by the commandments which have been given and by the voice of the Conference and verily I say unto you my servent Knewel Whitney is the man which shall be appointed and ordained unto this power this is the will of the Lord your god your redeemer even so Amen –
