Exiled Saints Encouraged to Petition Governor

24 September 1835

In Kirtland, Ohio, JS and high council resolved that exiled Latter-day Saints should petition Missouri governor Daniel Dunklin for resettlement on Jackson County, Missouri, lands. They also stated their intent to take eight hundred to one thousand men into Missouri in spring 1836, in preparation for resettlement.
