The council briefly convened on the morning of 5 April 1845 at the before immediately adjourning until the following week. noted in his journal, “On account of a multitude of business waiting the council adjourned without doing business to next friday.” The “multitude of business” included the church conference that occurred over the next three days and a meeting of the stockholders of the Association.
Saturday April 5th. 1845 Council met pursuant to adjournmet and organized at 9½ A.M.
Coun. said that inasmuch as their there is no especial business before the house he moved that the council adjourn untill next friday @ 8 o clock & 45 minutes.
The motion was carried and the council adjourned accordingly. [p. [266]]
