Wednesday 13th. At 10 oclock A.M. he met in council with all  the presidency of , & , together with their counsel lors, (or their legal representatives), the presidents of the seventy  and many of the Eldr’s. of the church of Latterday Saints,  came to order and sung Adam-ondi-Ahman and opened  by prayer offered up by Pres. Joseph Smith Jun.  presided on the occasion.— The council being thus organized  and opened, he arose and made some preliminary remarks  in general terms to[u]ching the authoritys of the church; also  laying before them the business of the day, which was to sup ply some deficiencies in the several quorums, which were  occasioned by the calling of the twelve & seventies <seventy> &c. After  some altercation upon the subject as to the most proper  manner to proceed Eldr. was nominated  and seconded to fill the bishops quorum in
The vote of the presidency was called and carried in the  unanimously,— vote of the high council of Zion was  then called & carried also,— vote of the twelve was called  and carried,— vote of the council of the Seventy was called  and carried,— vote of the of Zion & his council  was called & carried, and was received  by the unanimous voice & consent of all the authoritys  of the church as a counsellor in the bishops council in   to fill the place of who is ord ained to the presidency.— was then ordained  under the hands of Bp. to the office of a  councillor also to the high priesthood.— Council adjour ned for one hour, by sing[ing] come let us rejoice in the  day of salvation &c.— Council assembled at 1, oclock P.M.  and proceeded to business— was nomina ted & seconded, as councilor in the high council of  to fill the place of who is ordained to the  presidency— a vote was called of the several quorums in  their respective order and carried unanimously [p. 173]
