urned home from and remained untill the succ eeding October; at which time a revelation was given, com manding him and to go to the town of  , which was 30 miles distant. He, commen ced making preparations; but before he was ready to start, he  heard a voice in the night, which said, “, arise  immediately, and go forth on the mission which thou wast  commanded to take to .” He arose from his bed and  took what little clothing he had in readiness, and set off w ithout further delay.
On arriving at the above mentioned place he found there according to previous appointment. Here they  commenced preaching together; and after laboring a while in  this town, they went from place to place; bearing testimony of  the truth in whatever city Town or village they enterred, untill  the 27th of December; at which time they arrived at .   was not long permitted to remain at home in quiet;  on the 1st of January he was with on a miss ion into the Eastern Country. They went and preached  from city to city untill they were called home to receive  the ordinance of <the> washing of feet

I shall now return to the month of september which  immediately preceeded the mission of the Elders to .  Joseph at this time was busily engaged in translating the Bible,  and was writing for him. About the first [p. 214]
