Biography

Ca. 1810–26 June 1834. Born at Sullivan Township (later Rutland Township), Tioga Co., Pennsylvania. Married Martha Curtis, ca. 1827. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, June 1831, at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio; ordained an elder three weeks later. Late 1831, proselytized in Monroe and Ontario counties, New York, where he and others from Columbia, Bradford Co., branch were instrumental in eventual conversion of Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, and others. Served mission to Upper Canada, June 1832. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834, and died of cholera near Rush Creek, Clay Co., Missouri.
