Granger, Lydia Dibble

Biography

5 Apr. 1790–1861. Born in Granby, Hartford Co., Connecticut. Daughter of Cornish Dibble and Lydia. Moved to Phelps, Ontario Co., New York, before 1813. Married Oliver Granger, 8 Sept. 1813, in Phelps. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ca. 1832–1833, in Sodus, Wayne Co., New York. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, 1833. Left Kirtland for Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri in Oct. 1838 with family, but turned back by mob in Missouri and returned to Kirtland. Moved to Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois, 1839. Returned to Kirtland, 1840. Returned to Nauvoo after husband’s death, by 1843. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1851. Served as president of Salt Lake City Fifteenth Ward Relief Society, 1855–1857. Died in Salt Lake City.
