Withers, William M.

Biography

1799–after 10 Feb. 1844. Born in Lincoln Co., Kentucky. Son of John Withers and Sarah Morgan. Family resided in Lincoln, Lincoln Co., in 1810. Married first Katherine (Kitty) Helm, ca. 14 June 1819, in Lincoln Co. Moved to Shelby Co., Kentucky, by 1830. Moved to Anderson Co., Kentucky, by 1833. Resided at Lawrenceburg, Anderson Co., 1840. Married second Mary F. Engelman, fall 1842, in Boyle Co., Kentucky. Moved to Hancock Co., Illinois, 1844. Tried for assault, 10 Feb. 1844, in Nauvoo, Hancock Co.; suit was dropped when parties settled.
