The John Smith daybook is in the same book as John Smith’s journal begun in Jan. 1833. The book was turned over so the back became the front and this daybook was inscribed. Sometime later, the journal/daybook was bound together with a manuscript copy of John Smith’s journal dated July 1840–Mar. 1841.
