Resolved by the City Council of the City of , that be, and he hereby is allowed, Six Dollars, for Surveying Harris Street, & extending Young Street.

Ordinance, 14 May 1842–C
An Ordinance to amend an Ordinance entitled ‘An ordinance to regulate Weights & Measures’.
Sec. 1. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of , that from & after the passage of this Ordinance, the following Sums shall be paid to, and received by the Weigher & Sealer of the City of , for the Duties herein prescribed, that is to say, for rectifying, Branding, and Sealing the following Articles, to Wit: all Scale Weights & Measures of Metal, Six and one fourth Cents each; all Measures of Wood, ten Cents each; and all Scale Beams & Steelyards, twelve & a half Cents each; which Sums shall be in full lieu & satisfaction of the Sums allowed for the like Services, in & by the Ordinance of which this is an Amendment, and it shall not be lawful for the Weigher & Sealer to ask, demand, receive, or take any greater Sum or Sums, or other Compensation for such Services, under the Penalty of Five Dollars for every offence, & to be recovered & disposed of in like manner as are other small Fines & Forfeitures of a like nature.
