Agreement with William Tenney and Others, 30 November 1836

This Article of agreement Made this thirtyeth day of Nov 1836 Between Joseph Smith Jr and of the first Part and Wm Teny [Tenney] and of the Second part witnesseth the Party of the first Part agree to rent to the Party of the second part a certain farm situate in the Township of Ohio known as the Stanard farm or the farm purchased of Stanard [Claudius Stannard] consisting of about two hundred Acres for the Term of one year from the first of April next the Party of first Part and to Pay the Taxes on the same and the party of the second part is to have the entire use of the improvements on the same But are to use no timber Except fire wood for their own use which is to consist of drywood that is not suitable for rails or sawing or [illegible] timber they are also to Leave the fenc[e]s in good repair and for the use of the said farm the Party of the second part agree to Pay to the Party of the first Part the sum of four hundred and twenty dollars and the Party of the first <​second​> Part agree to quary on the said farm three thousand five hundred Cords of Stone and deliver them in the village of the at such Places as the Party of the first Part shall direct and the Party of the second part is to Cord the same in a good and workmanlike manner on the Place of delivery and the Party of the first part agree to Pay four dollars per Cord on <​the​> deli[v]ery of Every ten Cords of stone to Be deliverd in three seperate piles and the Party of the second part are to look individually to Each of individual of the Party of the first Part for the Pay according to the amount of stone deliv[er]ed to Each—

and also the Party of the second Part agree to quary and Deliver three thousand cords of [p. [1]] Split Stone for hewing at ten dollars per cord to Be corded at the Places of delivery to Be deliverd in the same Places as the other 3500 Cords above refered to Before mencioned and the Payments to Be made in the same manner.
