A Bill praying that the act Entitled an act Regulating stores and Groceries Be amended Repealed
To the Honorable Legislative authorities of the City of in Council Assembled Greeting,
We your petitioners Citizens of Beg Leave to Represent that we are unable to Discover the most perfect Wisdom or Equity in <the> above act For if our Interpretation is just of this Law is Just he that has ten Dollars to sell must pay ten Dollars for the Right to sell it. Look at this Ratio of Licence percentage

All men are born free and have Certain Equal privileges and unalienable privileges among which are Life Liberty and the pursuit of happines We therefore ask your Honorable Body that the act may be so amended as to make the tax Equal in proportion to the stock in trade and your petitioners as in Duty Bound will Ever pray
