Numerous accounts in journals and minutes describe meetings where church members or leaders united in prayer. For example, the first two conferences of the church included “Prayer by all.” Zebedee Coltrin remembered that during one of the meetings of the School of the Prophets in Kirtland in 1833, “a number joined in the circle, and prayed.” (Minutes, 9 June 1830; Minutes, 26 Sept. 1830; School of the Prophets Salt Lake City Minutes, 11 Oct. 1883; see also, for example, JS, Journal, 11 Jan. 1834; 28 Jan. 1834; 7–9 Apr. 1834; 21 Aug. 1834; 29 Nov. 1834; 23 Sept. 1835; and Minutes, Discourse, and Blessings, 14–15 Feb. 1835.)
