Ca. 1758–21 Feb. 1846. Butcher, innkeeper. Born in Ireland. Moved to Halifax, Halifax Co., Nova Scotia, as a young man. Married Elizabeth Salmond of Rhode Island, ca. 1790. Moved to Burford, Upper Canada, during War of 1812. Early resident of Mount Pleasant, Brantford Township, Wentworth Co. (later Brant Co.), Gore District (later in Ontario), Upper Canada; operated inn there for many years. Baptized into LDS church by JS, 27 or 28 Oct. 1833, at Mount Pleasant. Died at Mount Pleasant.
