To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know Ye that Joseph Smith Jr. and wife of the said Smith of the township of County of and State of , for the consideration of Five hundred dollars received to their full satisfaction of Samuel Whitney Senr. of the town of County of and State of , do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the Samuel Whitney Senr. the following described Tract or Lot of land situate in No. 9 and the 9th. Range of townships in the Connecticut Western Reserve in the State of and which is also in the County of and is known as Lot No [blank] and is bounded as follows: to wit; Beginning at a Stake fourteen Rods south of a Stake which is eight chains and Seventy six links South Eight degrees East from the Southeast corner of the in built in the year of 1834 by the Church of the latter day saints (so called.) thence west, [p. 301]
