High Council of Zion as I said in a forme[r]  chapter, in which was ordaind  President of Zion & &  his counsellors. Here at the same time he  ordained Prophit Seeer Revelator  & translator.

Chapter 22

Chapter 22nd
Now from this time forth which was in  July 1834 Smith seemed to be in doubt wher  into this thing would grow and began to  upbraid and abuse him as his  natural custom was to do with those  whom he feared, least they should become  great in the sight of God or man, therefor  he haranged the conference and sought  to destroy the confidence of the people pres ent in on whom he had best owed all the gifts & power that he had him self receivd by inspiration by the laying on  his hand according to the order of Heaven
After Smiths return to Ohio  and after his ordering the first Elders of the  church to go to there to receive their  endowment from on high he hasted the  finishing of the at which  was commenced before he had gone to  Zion to redeem her. He from this time  began to be lifted up in the pride of  his eyes, and began to seek riches and  the glory of the world, also sought to  establish the ancient order of things as he  & his counsellors &  pleased to call it. therefore they began [p. 95]
