Saturday May 6. 1843 Morning had an interview with a lecturer on Mesmerism. phrenology obje[c]ted to his performing here in the . thought we had been imposed upon enough— by such kind of things. interview with a Methodist minister. about his God of no body of or parts,— 9½ [a.m.] Mounted. with staff. Band & about 12 ladies, led by , & proceded to the General Parade of the Legion east of my farm on the Prairie & had a good day of it except very high wind.— Ma[r]ched the Legion down Main St. & disbanded about 2. oclck P.M. after a short spee[c]h on the [p.
