It hap[pe]ned about these times that some excitement was  raised in the adjoining Counties, that is & , against  us, in consequence of the sud[d]en departure of these wicked char acter[s], of the apostates from this Church, into that vicinity, report ing false stories, and statements, but when they come to hear  the other side of the question their feeling were all allayed  upon that subject especially, The emigration to this land  is verry extensive, and numerous, some few are troubled  with the ague and fever, The are chiefly  engaged in counciling and settling the emigrants to this  land, The prophets [prophecies] are fulling fulfilling very fast upon  our heads, and in our day and generation, They are from the North & from the South from the East & from  West, unto , for safety against the day of wrath, which  Is to be poured out with out mixture upon this generation  according to the prophets,—
The following was given in  Mo. July 8th. 1838. And read this day in the congregation  of the saints,
Revelation Given to the  July 8th 1838 in Mo in the presence of J smith Jr.  , , ,   &
Making known the will of the Lord concerning the Twelve  Show unto us thy will O, Lord concerning the  Twelve.
Verily thus saith the Lord, Let a conference  be held immediately, Let the Twelve be organiz ed, Let men be appointed to supply the place<s> of  those who [are?] fallen, Let my servent remain for  a season in the land of Zion, to publish my word  let the residue continue to preach from that hour,  and if they will do this in all Lowliness of heart  in meekness in and pureness and long suffering  I the Lord God give unto them a promise, that [p. 54]
