10 March 1838 • Saturday

The High Council of Zion, met in ,  on Saturday, March 10,th 1838, agreeable to adjournment;
The council was organized in the following order viz   and Presidents

Opened by singing and prayer by  after which read a clause in the  Book of Covenants respecting the dutys of Elders in  holding Conferences, and made a few remarks upon the same.
Instructions were then given to the Council from and
1st Resolved— That the <H> Council recommend to the branches,  of this Church, that they recieve no members of this Church,  who may come among them, unless they bring a certificate of  their standing.
An appeal case was presented, pending between  John Lemons and Solomon Wixom, which was put over  untill the last Saturday in April next.
2.nd Resolved— That the High Council recommend, by  writing, to the various branches of this Church, that all those  who wish to recieve an ordination, procure a recommend from  the branch to which he belongs, & have it pass through the  hands of the different quorums for inspection, previous to  his ordination.
3. Resolved— That the High Council recommend to all  those who hold licences, between the age of 18 and 45, and do not  officiate in their respective office, be subject to military duty.
4. Resolved That the High Council recommend to the office of a High Priest.
Council adjourned one hour till 2 o clock P.M. [p. 104]
