The High Council of Zion met in  May 12th 1838: Presiding.
The Council was organized as follows:

The Council was opened by prayer by Prest
A case was then presented pending between Samuel Kim ball, plaintiff and , , and  James Hendrix [Hendricks] defendant, which was put over untill  the last Thursday in June next.
1st Resolved— That the High Council hold monthly  sessions, to be the last Thursday in each month, the first  to commence the last Thursday in June next
2nd Resolved That be appointed to  correct the matter for the “Elders Journal” (that is) the  Orthography and Prosody of the different letters &c.
3rd Resolved That the High Council authorize the   to set apart eighty acres of land for the benefit  of and also, 80 acres for Joseph Smith jr.
4th Resolved That the High Council use their  influence to have the Church consecrate their properties  for the benefit of the poor.
5th Resolved That , , &   be a committee to converse with Joseph  Smith jr and , to agree upon some particular  price or wages for their services in the printing office &  their saleries for the coming year. [p. 140]
