Thus far, according to the ord[e]r of the , we have a company of Danites in these  times, to put to rights physically that  which is not righ[t], and to clense the Church  of verry great evils which hath hitherto exi sted among us, inasmuch as they cannot be put  to rights by teachings & persuaysons,  This company or a part of them exibited on  the fourth day of July
They come up to , by companies of  tens, commanded by their Captain over ten.

28th President Smith and left  , for to trans act some important buisness and to settle  some Cannadian bretheren, in that place, as  they are emegrating numerously to this  land from all parts of the Count[r]y, from with his company, has  arrived, is with him—
29 July 1838 • Sunday
29th This day Elder & Preached. They have just return ed from England from a mission of som thing over a years duration, They bring glad  tidings of great joy from that people, They   between one and two thousand and left  Greater prospects than they had ever before seen   a large number of ,  & , & thus the word work is spreading rappedly  throug[h] the country, A large majority of the  saints in have and are arriving here  every day, has been broken up  by those who have professed the name of  Latter Day Saints and have denied the faith [p. 61]
