Sunday the 5th The attended  meeting this day, at the usual place of worship   preached a discourse, Prest Smith  made some observations immediately after,  by way of instructions to the in particu lar relative wisdom &c. deliver ered a short discourse in the after part of the day  and at the Close thereof Elder and   were called upon to administer unto sever al by the for their and the giving of the Holy Ghost, Br. was among the number, who being   a few days since was this day confer med,

Monday 6th This day is the  throughout the state for officers, office seekers  from without the Church who depend verry much  on our help, begin to flatter us with smooth  stories but we understand them verry well  through the wisdom of God given unto us they  cannot deceive us for God is with us and very  near us, for he speaks often unto us, through  the means he has appointed

Smiths house, to take into con cideration the conduct of certain breth eren, who had gone contrary to council and settled  at the whereupon it was  agreed that they must return to according to the Council of God, or  they would not be concidered one among us [p. 63]
