Commerce Conference

In Commerce, Illinois, JS presided over general church conference, which organized Commerce stake and Montrose, Iowa Territory, branch. Conference also confirmed JS and Elias Higbee would accompany Sidney Rigdon to Washington DC to petition federal government for redress and restitution for Saints’ 1838–1839 expulsion from Missouri.
