Historical Introduction

On the back of the Didimus or Commission the justice should endorse: “The execution of this commission appears by a schedule herewith returned. Given at [blank] County this [blank] day of [blank] 1839
A. B. J. P.”
For depositions thus taken & certified, within this notice and Didimus will be sealed up together by the magistrate and directed as prescribed in the Didimus. If the taking should adjourn for more than one day a new captain as the first on this sheet must be written filling the blanks to suit the time as contained in the notice. [1/2 page blank] [p. [3]]
