“Valuable Discovery,” circa Early July 1835
“Valuable Discovery of hiden reccords,” [, OH], ca. early July 1835; handwriting of ; three pages; Kirtland Egyptian Papers, CHL. Includes redactions in handwriting of .Hand-made notebook made up of two gatherings of three leaves folded to make six leaves or 12 pages for a total of 12 leaves or 24 pages. The first three leaves of the notebook are inscribed on the recto of each leaf. The gatherings are bound together with string and six holes along the left side (not in the gutter). String is present on the brown wrapper that aligns with holes in the text block, but it is no longer attached. The leaves measure 7⅞ x 6 inches. There are about 17–19 lines that are extremely faded (hard to get a count). The brown paper is rough cut, but measures about 8½ x 6⅛. There is damage to the lower right corner of the brown sheet and first page. Some staining exists on the brown cover (upper right) and lower edge. Some foxing exists on the internal pages.
