Cross-Examined by Plaintiff’s Counsel—
Question: Is there not a strong prejudice in your Neighborhood against the Mormons?
Answer: There is, on account of their bad Moral Conduct, their thefts &c—
Question. Did you partake of that prejudice yourself?
Answer. Yes, arising from a Knowledge of their guilt in regard to the Matters above related— I have no prejudice against them on account of their Religion—
I believe that more than one half of the population of Ilinois, are Mormons. I hever Knew of a Mormon having served on a Jury in — I have very little to do with the Courts & Consequently have had very little opportunity of Knowing whether they served on Juries or not, and fu[r]ther deponent Saith not.
