Smalley, Ellis
Biography
ca. June 1815–29 Dec. 1893. Social reform advocate, cistern maker, carpenter. Born in New Jersey. Married Eliza Noe, 7 June 1834, in New York City. Elected as member of interim central committee of National Reform Association, 4 Apr. 1844. Moved to Chicago, by 1855. Elected overseer of highways for Chicago Fifth Ward, Nov. 1864. Died in Chicago.
