Ells, Hannah

Biography

4 Mar. 1808–after June 1845. Dressmaker. Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England. Daughter of Thomas Ells and Hannah Smart. Immigrated to U.S. and resided in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1841. Operated a dressmaking business in Nauvoo. Identified in some sources as a plural wife of JS, sealed 1843/1844. Member of Female Relief Society of Nauvoo.
