Biography
13 Apr. 1802–26 Jan. 1895. Printer, newspaper editor, clerk, bookkeeper. Worked as printer for Ontario Repository, 1818, in Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New York. Moved to Palmyra, Wayne Co., New York, ca. 1824. Partnered with Pomeroy Tucker to publish Wayne Sentinel, ca. 1824–ca. 1827. Married Chloe Thayer, 4 Sept. 1827, in Palmyra. Worked in print shop of E. B. Grandin, punctuating and typesetting first edition of Book of Mormon, Aug. 1829–Mar. 1830. Major in local militia. Died in Palmyra.
