Biography

2 Nov. 1801–14 Jan. 1892. Farmer, merchant, banker. Born in Lincoln Co., Kentucky. Son of George McKinney and Ann Riley. Abolitionist. Married first Elizabeth Goode, Nov. 1827. Migrated to Illinois, 1832, and settled in Warren Co. (later in Henderson Co.). Served as Henderson Co. recorder, beginning 1841. Wife died, 1846. Married second Mary Moore Stewart, 16 Feb. 1847, in Henderson Co. Appointed commissioner of enrollment for congressional district in Illinois by U.S. president Abraham Lincoln, 1863. Moved to Aledo, Mercer Co., Illinois, May 1873. Died in Aledo.
