Biography

14 May 1815–17 Dec. 1910. Farmer, freighter, justice of the peace. Born in New York. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10 Sept. 1831. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834. Ordained an elder, by 2 Apr. 1836. Served mission in eastern U.S., 1836. Married Rachel Winter Smith, 1836, in Bolton, Warren Co., New York. Purchased land in Caldwell Co., Missouri, 12 July 1837. Ordained a seventy, by 8 Oct. 1844. Appointed to serve mission to Indiana, Apr. 1844. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley with Willard Richards pioneer company, 1848. Appointed to serve mission to Sandwich Islands, 1852. Served as justice of the peace in Wanship, Summit Co., Utah Territory. Moved to Granger, Salt Lake Co., Utah, by 1904. Died in Granger.
