Brigham Young’s house, Nauvoo, Illinois

Summary

Brigham Young’s family moved from Montrose, Iowa Territory, into log cabin on southeast corner of Kimball and Granger streets in Nauvoo, by July 1841. On same lot, Young built a two-story, twenty-two-by-sixteen-foot brick home, completed by 31 May 1843. Rooms added on east and west of house, by 1844.
