Battery
Summary
A willful, careless, or otherwise unlawful physical act resulting in harmful or offensive contact with another person without that person’s consent. Battery may be justified by officers of the law exercise their duty, by another person to prevent a felony or disturbance of the peace, or when necessary for defense.
