Holbrook & Ferme

A wholesale hardware firm operated by Edward H. Holbrook and John Ferme in New York City, New York, from 1831 to 1838. The firm of Rigdon, Smith & Cowdery purchased goods on credit from the firm in 1836. This unpaid debt was renegotiated in September 1837. The firm of Holbrook & Ferme closed in 1838. Agent Oliver Granger tried to renegotiate the debt again in August 1839 in order to reach a settlement. The debt remained unresolved, and JS included it in his bankruptcy application.
