made a calculation of matters for an outfit which he stated verbally. He had not been able to gather as much information as he wished. He had made a calculation that for every family of five persons would be necessary one good wagon, 3 Yoke of Cattle, 2 Cows, 2 Beef Cattle, 3 Sheep, 1000 lbs Flour, 20 lbs Sugar, 1 Rifle and ammunition, and a tent and tent poles. He had estimated that the cost of fitting out a family would be about two hundred and fifty dollars; providing they had nothing to begin with but their beds, bedding and cooking utensils.
