thousand eight hundred and forty three at the County of aforesaid made his promissory note in writing bearing date the date day and year aforesaid and thereby promised to pay to on order the sum of one thousand eight hundred and eighteen dollars and thirty five cents on demand and then and there delivered the said promissory note to the said and the said then and there endorsed the same to the said whereof the said Joseph Smith then and there had notice and then and there promised to pay in consideration of the promises to pay the amount of said note to the said according to the tenor and effect thereof And the said in fact saith that afterwards to wit on the twenty fifth day of March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three at the County of aforesaid payment of the said sum of money in said [p.
