Jos. Smith as Trustee To G[eorge] C Hampton

This Indenture made and entered into this Seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the County of and state of Illinois of the first part and George C Hampton of the County of and state aforesaid of the other <​second​> part Witnesseth that the said Joseph Smith party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said George C Hampton party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of in the state of Illinois Known and described as follows to wit Lot number four (4) in block number one hundred and fifty seven of the City of Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining To Have and To Hold the abov[e] described premises unto the said George C Hampton party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Smith party of the first part his assigns and successors in Office the aforesaid premises unto the said George C Hampton party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
