this may certify that on the 19th day of March in year of our lord 1843 personally appeard Alfred thayer & Eliz[abeth] Lake both of the state & county & afforesd & demanded of me, a regular minister of the gospel that I should Celebrate the rites of matrimony between them they beeing in my opinion lawful Subjects of marriage was <married> united according to the rules of the gospel & ordinance of the afforesd given under my hand & seal this 23 day of march 1843—
