I hereby Certify that the City Council of the City of have this day allowed Nine Dollars & fifty Cents, being the amount deducted from his pay as a Member of the City Council, for fines, for the year 1842, which sum the will please pay him out of any funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
Given under my hand, & the Corporation Seal of said City of , this 12th. day of May 1843.
At the 12 May 1843 Nauvoo City Council meeting, Samuel Smith applied to be returned money for fines imposed on him for the year 1842. His application was accepted and this order written.
