There is an entry recorded 20 February 1845 in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for $2.00 for an order to Vernon Bruce dated 29 August 1844. This order possibly corresponds to that entry. Bruce’s account in the ledger notes ten orders on collector dated 29 August 1844 totaling $23.00. This and the two other extant pay orders for Bruce dated 29 August 1844 likely correspond to three of those ten orders.
