There are no entries recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for $8.00 to Vernon Bruce dated 5 October 1844. Bruce’s account in the ledger notes four orders on collector dated 5 October 1844 totaling $12.00. This and the two other extant pay orders for Mackley dated 5 October 1844 likely correspond to three of those four orders.
