Know all men by these presents that we as principal and Baldwin L. Samuel, John Wilson <Jr & Ambrose Bryant, & Isaac D McComsey> as security, are held and firmly bound unto James Campbell, Sheriff of in the State of Illinois in the sum of Four hundred dollars lawful money of the , for the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs & assigns firmly by these presents Signed, Sealed, & dated this first day of July A. D. 1843.
The condition of this obligation is such, that whereas Joseph Smith has lately sued out of the Circuit Court of the County of , a certain writ of in a certain of against and , returnable to the next term.— of the said court to be holden at on the second Monday of September next.
