Ordained member of Third Quorum of the Seventy by Zebedee Coltrin, 20 Dec. 1836, in Kirtland. Member of Kirtland Safety Society, 1837. Moved to Commerce, Hancock Co., Illinois, by Dec. 1839. Married Mary Ann Adams, 16 Feb. 1847, in Hamilton Co., Ohio. Moved to Cincinnati, by 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1853. Lived in Salt Lake City, 1860. Moved to Ogden, Weber Co., Utah Territory, by 1870. Returned to Salt Lake City, by 1880. Served mission to U.S. and Canada, 1883–Dec. 1884. Died in Salt Lake City.
