ca. 1788–21 Sept. 1851. Born in Scotland. Married Catharine Paine Von Katten, in New York. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Purchased property in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, from JS, 28 June 1841. Returned to New York, by 1851. Died at New York City.
