6 June 1794–26 Nov. 1870. Soldier, farmer, county treasurer. Born in Bourbon Co., Kentucky. Served in War of 1812. Married first Mary Ann Lewis, 4 Mar. 1816, in Fayette Co., Kentucky. Purchased land in Pike Co., Missouri Territory, 5 Aug. 1819. Moved to Clark Co., Missouri, by 1837. Member of first grand jury for Clark Co., Apr. 1837. First treasurer of Clark Co., May 1837–1842. Appointed as superintendent of Clark Co. courthouse, 31 Aug. 1837. Designed Clark Co. courthouse. Married second Susan Thorp, 20 Feb. 1842, in Marion Co., Missouri. Implicated in abductions of Philander and Daniel Avery, Nov. and Dec. 1843. Married third Mary Moorehouse, 3 Nov. 1868, in Clark Co. Buried in Clark Co.
