27 mp 12 Serjt. of 1st. Guard came to Head Quarters and certified— all correct—
" Wrote to to attend here immediately to receive his instructions.

27 mp 1. — attended according to orders— he received his instructions— and went to execute same—

" Wrote orders to Brig. Gen. and J. S. Gleason to call out the Legion to meet on Parade Ground N. E. of the Temple by Eleven— to be ready for review at Twelve.

28 daylight News came that Joseph & were murdered—
1/2 past 7 gave orders to have all the legion out on the Parade Ground East of Temple at 10 o clock
10 o clock attended on the ground— the legion out— addresses were given and exhortations to keep quiet
afterwards Council at Head Quarters and then went to meet the sad procession of our Murdered Prophets and Generals— formed into line— and having delivered their bodies at the Mansion— addresses were given to the immense Multitude assembled— which dispersed peaceably
