<​Sec 1.—​> Be it ordained by the City Council of the city of , that from and after <​the​> passage of this act it shall not be lawful for any person or persons <​owning hogs or swine to allow the same to​> to allow any hogs or swine to run at large within the Limits of said

Sec 2 And it is hereby further ordained that a fine of five dollars for every hog or swine shall be imposed upon any person or persons suffering their swine to run at large within the limits of said corporation <​said fine to <​be​> imposed by the Mayor or any alderman <​of said city​> upon the complaint of any person or persons aggrieved and to be collected off the goods and chattles of the defendent as in a common ​>

Sec 3 and be it further ordained that from and after the passage of this act it shall be lawful for any citizen or constable to take up any swine found running at large within the bounds of said and convey them to the marshals of said , who shall give three days puplic notice <​posted up in three public places in the , in writing,​> and if n[o] owner shall appear <​and pay <​all​> expenses incurred by virtue of this act​> said swine shall be sold at public auction to the hig[h]est bidder and after deducting all necessary expenses the proceeds shall be paid into the City Treasury

Sec 4 and be if further ordained that [blank] cents shall be allowed to any person who shall take up any hogs or swine and convey them to the Marshale according to the provisions of this ordinance and that that the Marshale of said shall be allowed Twenty five cents per day for keeping such hogs or swine and ten per cent of the proceeds of sales made by him in accordanc with the provisions of this ordinance
