that he was willing to go where the council wanted him. He gave his views in regard to our best policy to be used at the next court.
Coun. was in favor of anointing all those officers who came with writs for innocent men and thrasing them. He dont believe it is of any use to say poor pussy any longer to any of them.
s motion was then put to the house and passed unanimously.

Babbitt transferred his law practice to Nauvoo in October 1844 and at this time would have had court cases pending before the Hancock County Circuit Court, which typically met in May and October. (See Advertisement, Nauvoo Neighbor, 9 Oct. 1844, [4].)
At the 1 March 1845 council meeting, Brigham Young stated, “If men come here to trouble and molest us, set aunt Peggy at them and anoint them as some person anointed a certain person in this City a few evenings ago,” referring to an attack on Washington Peck, a dissenter in Nauvoo.
