This Indenture made and entered into, this Twenty first day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty two between and Sarah [Phinney] Foster his wife of the county of and State of Illinois, of the one part, and Joseph Smith of the county of and State aforesaid, of the other part,
Witnesseth, that the said and Sarah his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred Dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of Land, situate and being in the county of in the State of Illinois, viz: The North half of Block No. nine, also the whole Block No Ten also the North half of Block No eight and the East half of Block No. Eleven in s addition to the city of containing ten acres of land, together with all the streets should they ever be vacated and all the timber now in them according to the Last and only survey by surveyor for , Illinois Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining.
To Have and To Hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith his heirs and assigns forever and the said and Sarah his wife their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrent and forever defend by these presents.
